Situated close to Aberystwyth, Nanteos is a 22 bedroom Georgian house, which was built in 1738. Tucked away in 30 acres of glorious woodland and private parkland, the hotel offers breathtaking views of the Welsh countryside and the rolling Cambrian hills.

All ten of the hotel’s classic king rooms are individually designed with elegant décor and magnificent views of the grounds. Weary travellers will be greeted on arrival on Christmas Eve with a special festive afternoon tea, before being shown to their rooms for a well-earned rest. Guests can breakfast at leisure on Christmas Day in the historic mansion kitchen before tucking in to a traditional five-course Christmas lunch with all the trimmings. As well as home-made canapés prepared in Nanteos’ kitchen, there is a selection of mouthwatering starters including Uig Lodge smoked salmon and chicken liver parfait. For the main course there is a choice of roast Pembrokeshire turkey, a rib of Welsh beef or turbot. This is followed by either a classic plum pudding with vanilla and a brandy snap, an indulgent chocolate brownie with mandarin sorbet, or a selection of British cheeses. Tea, coffee and mince pies will be served once dessert has been cleared. For those that still have room later on in the day, there will be a buffet supper served in the evening.

Breakfast is provided the following morning and guests can relax and blow away the cobwebs with a wintery stroll through the hotel’s beautiful grounds, taking full advantage of the late check-out.
