Aberystwyth Sea2Shore Food Festival a Success

Sea2shore Food Festival-Aberystwyth

Despite the severe weather warning, Aberystwyth Sea2Shore food festival, held on Aberystwyth promenade, was an outstanding success on Sunday 11 August 2019!

Sea2Shore celebrates Cardigan Bay’s Coastal Heritage and all that’s good in Wales. The event included a huge range of traders offering quality local produce and craft stalls. From paella to pizza, cheeses to wines, local fish, vegetables, meat and lovely cakes and brownies.

As well as stalls, there were chef demonstrations from talented people including Michelin-starred Chef Gareth Ward from Ynys Hir.

There was plenty for children to enjoy including Punch & Judy, go-karting, trampolines, face painting and more!

Crowds also enjoyed a demonstration of surf lifesaving techniques from the Aberystwyth Surf Lifesaving Club.

The festival, which began in 2011 as a small event to raise awareness of the fishing industry in Cardigan Bay, now draws in thousands of visitors.

Representatives from Penparcau Community Forum and Aberystwyth Rotary Club cycled miles to raise funds for Prostate Cancer research on the day. Many charities were there too, as well as Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Hywel Dda Health Board Council and the Council’s Coast and Countryside team.
